Starting Friday 4th, I will be doing a new black belt blog series called Literary Kicks.
Every Friday a well-known author will be providing text and photos of one of the many great scenes in their book. Scenes that will move you to tears, to the closet, to the safety of the neighbors. Books that make you laugh out loud, books you just have to tell everyone about. Books that strike an emotional cord and inspire us to take action and teach us something new. Once in a while, you’ll find an author or a novel that manages to do all of these things and more.
What springs to mind are books like Far From The Madding Crowd (Hardy), The Shack (Young), The Testament (Grisham), The Hunger Games (Collins), Bridget Jones’s Diary (Fielding) and The Snow Goose (Gallico) to name a few. Books that leave us with that ‘stomach-heaving’ residue, books that have pride of place on our shelves.
I am looking forward to introducing you to a blend of entertaining authors over the next few weeks. So look out for the black belts on Literary Kicks.
